Concert Dress Info and Required Materials Print  

Concert Dress for all Band, Strings, and Chamber Choir students are as follows: (all shirt/blouse/ties will be ordered at the Parent Mtg in Aug and during regular class times from Aug 16 to early September) 

Boys/Men: French Blue oxford shirt from Land's End, black dress slacks, black socks, and dark dress shoes.  No jeans or tennish shoes.  Blue plaid necktie.

 White  Hunter/Classic Navy Plaid Classic Navy  

Girls/Women: French Blue oxford blouse from Land's End ($19.50), long black skirt (at least knee length) or formal black pants (no jeans), black dress shoes, black or natural stockings.

Concert Dress for all other students (Guitar, Keyboarding, Recorder, Beg. Chorus):
Sunday dress to include: dress slacks or skirt (at least knee length), blouse or button down dress shirt with collar, dress shoes (no tennis shoes).  No jeans!  Male students may wear a necktie if they so desire.  Glee club students may have costumes for their performances.  Guitar and Keyboarding students will have small recitals during regular class time on the last day of class each semester.  The instructor will determine whether or not they should wear Concert Dress.

All students will need:
a) A Grace Notes t-shirt - $8 per shirt.  All students are required to wear the Grace Notes t-shirts to class on Monday.  Students should wear bottoms (pants/skirts) that are not baggy, tight fitting, too short, or see through. 
b) Their instrument, and everything you need to play it (bow, reeds, valve oil, shoulder rest, etc...)
c) 1" Black 3-ring binder with clear page protectors for music.  
d) a sharpened pencil
e) a music stand and carrying case (with your name clearly shown) -not necesary for Chorus students

Band

All Trumpet players must have a straight mute.

All students playing the sax, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon must have at least 2 fresh reeds in their case at all times.

Beginner Band Students will need to purchase the Standard of Excellence Book 1 (red) for their instrument.

Intermediate Band: Standard of Excellence Book 1 (red) and Book 2 (blue)

Concert Band Students will need Standard of Excellence Book 3 (green).

Jazz Students will need the Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method

       

 

Strings

Beginner Strings students will need:  Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 

Intermediate Strings students will need: Essential Elements 2000 Book 2

Advanced Strings students will be given music by the instructor

Violin Book 1   Violin Book 1

All Choral Programs

Students will be given music by the instructor.  You must keep up with you music and turn it in at the end of the year.  Students are given permission to make working copies of their music to use during the year, but the copies must be turned in at the end of the season.

Keyboarding 

Students will need their own keyboard and stand.  More details will be posted before classes begin.

Art

most art supplies will be provided.

Guitar

Students will need a guitar that fits them, a pick.  Students may use an electric or bass guitar.  They will not need an amplifier for class.  The instructor will give more details during the first class.
