Concert Dress Info and Required Materials Print  


Concert Dress for all Band, Strings, Recorder, Beg Chorus and Chamber Choir students are as follows: 

Boys/Men: Long Sleeve button down oxford dress shirt in French Blue, classic black necktie, black dress slacks, black socks, and dark dress shoes.  No jeans or tennish shoes.  Black necktie.  Shirts are included as part of your Registration Fee.

 

WhiteClassic Navy  Van Heusen® Satin Solid Tie

Girls/Women: Long Sleeve button down oxford-style blouse in French Blue, long black skirt (at least knee length) or formal black pants (no jeans), black dress shoes, black or natural stockings.  Shirts are provided as part of your Registration Fee.

Glee club students may have costumes for their performances.  Instructor will advise. Guitar and Keyboarding students will have small recitals during regular class time on the last day of class each semester.  The instructor will determine whether or not they should dress up.

 

Sunday Dress Guidelines for Guitar Recital


Sunday Dress should consist of dress slacks, button-up dress shirt, dark socks, dress shoes (necktie is optional for boys) and dress skirt that falls below the knee, hose, stockings or socks that come to the knee or higher, dress blouse, or a “Sunday” dress, and dress shoes.

 

All students will need:
a) Their instrument, and everything you need to play it (bow, reeds, valve oil, shoulder rest, etc...)
b) 1" Black 3-ring binder with clear page protectors for music.  
c) a sharpened pencil
d) a music stand and carrying case (with your name clearly shown) -not necesary for Chorus students

Band

All Trumpet players must have a straight mute.

All percussion students will need a muting pad and a student percussion kit.

All students playing the sax, clarinet, oboe, and bassoon must have at least 2 fresh reeds in their case at all times.

Beginner Band Students will need to purchase the Standard of Excellence Book 1 (red) for their instrument.

Intermediate Band: Standard of Excellence Book 1 (red) and Book 2 (blue)

Concert Band Students will need Standard of Excellence Book 3 (green).

Jazz Students will need the Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method

       

 

Strings

Beginner and Intermediate 1 students will need:  Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 

Intermediate 2 students will need: Essential Elements 2000 Book 2

Advanced Strings students will be given music by the instructor

Violin Book 1   Violin Book 1

All Choral Programs

Students will be given music by the instructor.  You must keep up with you music and turn it in at the end of the year.  Students are given permission to make working copies of their music to use during the year, but the copies must be turned in at the end of the season.


Art

Cover up shirt for messy projects.

Guitar

Students will need a guitar that fits them, a pick.  Students may use an electric or bass guitar.  They will not need an amplifier for class.  The instructor will give more details during the first class.   All students must come into to class with a tuned instrument.
